...Of course, Brian and I were NOT in Miami this morning, because we suck.
But fortunately, a lot of other people don't suck. (Or at least, they all suck less!)
People all over the world want peace, want to unite against tyrrany and warprofiteers... and ever more, the USA is the symbol of what they reject, and the opposite of what they wish to achieve.
We must change the USA, NOW, from the inside out: vote out bu$hCo in November, but more than that, do something every day to make America and the world a better place. Anything. At all. Please.
Darker red means a larger majority of contributions to bu$hCo. Darker blue means a larger majority of contributions to all 10 of the Democratic candidates who ran last year. Another part of the
SITE I got this from gives individual names and addresses. Everywhere I looked, people with highfallutin addresses and job titles like "CEO" were giving $2000 per household member to bu$h. (added late: my analysis is supported by
THIS page from the same site.) Everywhere I looked I saw lots and lots of people who gave a hundred or so to someone, but the sheer weight of all those maximum contributions tilts the moneyscale sharply into the red.

You can't hold onto money too long: it will turn your heart black. It will change the way your eyes see. And eventually you will be like the people who say,
"Wealth is a sign of God's favor" -- people for whom up is down, down is up, good is bad, bad is good, for whom self-righteous self-satisfaction takes the place of pleasure, for whom hatred takes the place of inspiration, for whom reaction takes the place of action. Greed, I am convinced, is the opposite of God (or Goodness Incarnate, if "God" is too heavy for you, my athiest/agnostic brothers and sistahs!), and Caesar's gold should be given to Caesar, because there is more treasure in the heart of a man who opens his eyes to the beauty of the world than in all the vaults of the world.
To live in relative poverty, therefore, is a relative blessing. And only worry over material things can take that blessing away. And so it is good and I am happy that most of my good friends find themselves, like me, without a lot of cash to splash around. That said, please overtip your waitress. Please give a buck to the bum. And please give $5 or $10 to moveon.org or the ACLU or someone who's fighting for people, over the powerful. Your "widow's mite" means more than you know.
As my cousin Matt often tells me, all it takes for evil to triumph is for good men to do nothing.
What ever happened to DEMOCRACY IN AMERICA?
Jim Hightower has been known to say a few pretty smart things, but one of the smartest things I ever heard him say was that "Left" and "Right" are ideology; power in this country runs from "Top" to "Bottom."
But that left-right shit sure does provide a menu of items about as healthy as McDonald's fare that some people sure will just never ever agree on. Keep THOSE things issues on the national agenda and you can keep Americans at each others' throats ad infinitum. (Cross reference with "divide and conquer" as well as "e pluribus unum")
Now, you may have heard me say in the past that the appeal of Howard Dean was that he represented neither liberal nor conservative viewpoints: that he represented Americanism: Democracy, the Constitution, the Bill of Rights. Should be pretty pedestrian stuff -- WOULD be pretty pedestrian stuff, were our country not miles from the path the founders blazed.
But the United States of America has set out like some unfunny Dr Evil to take over the world: to threaten violence in every quarter; to take money, land, minerals, and human labor by force; to incite war and coups d'etats, to further disempower the most powerless, and to further enrich the most wealthy, and all of this at home as well as abroad.
Fascism, to paraphrase the dictionary, is combined corporate and government power enforced by military force and supported domestically through enthusiastic nationalism. Well, hello, bu$hCo!
Howard Dean has started a new organization called Democracy For America, and boy, does America need an infusion of Democracy! Our leaders use the word a lot, but methinks they mean "Capitalism" when they sayeth "Democracy": as in, "we are bringing Democracy [sic; "Capitalism"] to Iraq."
The goals of this new organization are simple enough: to encourage Democracy in America; to take America back from the corporations and the warmongers and give it back to the people.

(I'll be in Miami's Bayfront Park peacefully demonstrating Saturday afternoon... I'll take pictures, and if my camera is not confiscated by stormtroopers, I'll post them here.)
There are PIRATES IN THE CARIBBEAN... and NONE of them are cute like Johnny Depp. More like skeletons whose rotting flesh hangs from their bones and stinks up the seven seas. Read all about it by clicking heah:
